안녕하세요 여러분 englishinkorean.com에 오신걸 환영합니다. 오늘 새로운 시도 하는 날이구요. 앞으로 여러분 매일매일 새로운 표현 신선한 표현을 접할 수 있도록 이런 동영상 학습 촬영해서 올릴려고 합니다. 매일 매일 하는 건 가능할지 모르겠지만 일단 해보려구요. so, we're gonna take a look at various expressions. 오늘의 표현 원래 제가 트위터 통해서 배포해 왔지만 이제 트위터도 하고 이거 동영상도 병행해서 하려구요.
그래서 오늘 여러분 아시다시피 there's a summit underway in Seoul and it's called the 핵안보정상회의. That is the Nuclear Security Summit in English and 회담 are talks. 회담 is usually referred to as a talk or a summit. Sometimes negotiations are also used but in the case of its two presidents from different countries the word that is most used is summit. so summit talks are sometimes used together. In this case 핵안보정상회의 is Nuclear security summit and 진행중 is "underway". ok? so, "is under way" and 폐막식, 끝나는날 is a closing ceremony. and 개막식, 시작하는 날, opening ceremony. so the opening day is the first day of the summit right? and 폐막하는 날 the closing day is the final day of the summit. and now you may have heard that Obama, 미 대통령, 실수 하나 하셨죠. He thougt the microphone was turned off he said something to russian president Medvedev and it was picked up on the mic. so, 녹음됐어요 했던 말 그러면 it was picked up 이라고 할 수 있고 그리고 켜진 마이크, 영어로 특별한 표현 있어요. 영어로 a hot mic 이라고 합니다 so 뜨거운 마이크 이라고 할 수 있겠죠 한국어로. 영어에서는 그거 의미있어요 켜진 마이크 so the mic is hot, it was picked up on a hot mic 이라고 하시면 되고. so 그런 실수는 영어에서 실수라는 의미를 지니는 단어 되게 많아요. 그중에서 하나 gaffe 라고 있어요. 이러한 실수 바로 gaffe 라고 할 수 있어요. gaffe 는 g, a, f, f, e 이렇게 쓰는 단어이고, 실수할 때 쓰는 말 특히 오바마한테 벌어진 일 바로 gaffe라고 할 수 있어요. so 문장으로 Obama was caught up in a microphone gaffe이라고 할 수 있어요. mishap 이라는 말도 실수라는 의미 가지고 있고. 어 지금 제가 링크 올린 그 신문 기사 보시면은 바로 이 표현 나옵니다. microphone gaffe so 유용하게 많이 쓸 수 있는 말이죠.
so, 진행중 underway 라고 할 수 있고, 정상회담 summit, talks 도 가능하고, 그리고 켜진마이크 hot mic 이라고 하고 gaffe 실수라고 하시면 되요. so 앞으로도 가능하면은 맨날 이런 학습 만들려고 합니다. 매일 매일 하는 거는 가능할지 모르겠지만 일단 노력하려고 합니다.so we'll keep it short. 앞으로 4분 넘지 않도록 할려구요.
